Every year, we host a Halloween party the Sunday before the holiday. These Jack O’Lantern cheeseburgers, from Sandra Lee, are the perfect addition to the buffet table. The kids love the silly faces and adding a little ‘blood’ (aka ketchup) makes these easy and delicious burgers fun for all your little ghosts and goblins.

Ingredients
10 (1-ounce) processed American cheese slices
3 pounds ground chuck
1 (1.0-ounce) envelope ranch salad dressing and seasoning mix
1 tablespoon ketchup
1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
10 hamburger buns, split
Instructions
Spray grill rack with nonstick nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (350° to 400°). Using a paring knife, cut eyes, nose, and mouth shapes out of each slice to create a jack-o’-lantern.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ranch seasoning mix, ketchup, and pepper; mix well. Using hands, shape into 10 patties. Grill, covered with grill lid, for 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until desired degree of doneness. Carefully place prepared cheese slices on burgers; grill, covered with grill lid, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until cheese is slightly melted. Serve open-faced on buns with desired toppings.
