Chocolate-covered Fruit Kebabs
Every week, I carpool with another family and I bring snacks that I think are relatively "healthy" and all the kids will like. Week after week, the kids in the other family reject my snacks. Finally, I just gave up with trying to find a salty snack and just brought some fruit. All of the kids, including my own, jumped with excitement and gobbled down all of the juicy treats. The fact is, children love fruit so why not find fun ways to give it to them. I love making a big plateful of these Chocolate-covered Fruit Kebabs and sticking them in the fridge. They are such a great thing to add to my kids' lunches and they're perfect for a grab-and-go snack. Best of all, they're so easy to make.
Fruit: Strawberries, bananas, pineapple (also good are apples, mango, blueberries, and raspberries)
Chocolate chips: I like dark chocolate but you can use any kind you prefer
Cut the fruit into bite-sized pieces and thread onto toothpicks.
Place the chocolate in a bowl and microwave until melted. I usually do it in 30 second increments, stirring after each time.
Dip each fruit kebab into the chocolate and place on a plate to set. Enjoy!
